back to work and school play

Well, it was back to work for me on Monday the 18th after 16 and a half weeks maternity leave. I was dead tired by the end of the week. In fact every afternoon around 3pm was a little hard too. After trying out the daycare twice last week, Alicia had her first cold (of I'm sure many to come) this week. She was very good though even though it is hard for her to suck her thumb with a cold. She continued to sleep nicely through her nights.

I did however negociate to work one day from home. But, watching mommy work is not very interesting.
Brandon had his year end school play yesterday. Each class represented a different continent. His did North America. They sang and danced to: The Canadian Hockey Game song (I have to admit I had never heard this song before); Yankee Doodle; Skip to my Lou; Home on the Range and New York New York. Here are a couple of pictures. Brandon is the last one to the right in all the pictures.

New things

5 new neighbours moved in right next door. That way the lady next door doesn't need to worry about cutting her grass. They have been pretty good at not making too much noise at night, although if they took the bells off their necks that would be even better.

We bought a new toy for the garden. Here are Herve, Mark and Brandon trying it out after we put it together. They thought it was loads of fun.

Here is Alicia modelling her new dress sent by Maureen. She likes to show off her tummy while wearing it.

Joshua thought the octopus sent by Maureen was lots of fun to play with. It had lots of tasty things to chew on

A couple more pictures from this week

Brandon keeping Joshua occupied at the table so his Mommy can eat (or is that Joshua keeping Brandon occupied because Joshua loves to throw his toys on the floor and Brandon picks them up everytime)

Brandon has found a new person to play video games with.

Joshua helping get Alicia to sleep by rocking her in her chair.

Joshua prefers the swings to the poney ride we took him on any day.

Alicia chilling out in the pool (all the sun got it up to 26 degrees!)

Enjoying the view from the look out tower in Chaumont.

Margot trying to get Alicia to drink Mommy's milk in a bottle (she has been refusing and only has one week to get it down pat before Mommy goes back to work)

Margot, Mark and Joshua visiting

Aunt Margot, Uncle Mark and Cousin Joshua are here visiting for a week
All that travelling makes you really hungry

Here are Joshua and Alicia getting acquainted on the couch

Joshua really likes touching this new toy. I bet he can't wait to have one of his own.
