Slow-up

We took part in our first "Slow up" event today. They closed up all the roads around lake Morat to cars and everyone and anyone could walk / run / bicycle / roller blade etc. around the lake. Each little village had entertainment and different things to eat.
This was the first time we could really try out the new buggy we bought for Alicia.
Since the ride was 32 km long we can really say we put the buggy to the test (I have to admit I had no idea it was going to be 32km long and once you started there was non turning back!)We started out at a nice slow pace (Brandon a little faster than the rest of us, he is the little boy in front of Hervé) and the roads weren't very crowded.
As we continued a long, the roads go more and more crowded. 55,000 people took part in the event. There were even parts where we had to walk because there were so many people.
Stopping for a little snack.
It took us about 5 hours to make it around the lake. Brandon and Alicia were very good. Brandon said he would even like to do it again sometime (although when asked what he liked the best he said the ice cream, free balloons and drinks that were handed out).

Tour du Canton

Wednesday was this years first Tour du Canton race. It was in Colombier. Brandon and cousins Tidji and Yolan (although Yolan was in another group because he was born in 1998) ran the race. It was quite a muddy race. When Brandon arrived at the finish line he had mud all up his back to the top of his head.
Here are Tidji and Brandon at the starting line.
Brandon as usual set off as fast as he could when they said go. If you enlarge the picture, you can also see Tidji a couple behind.

walking and trampoline

It wasn't easy to get Alicia walking on video. Everytime I remembered to get the camera out, she just didn't seem to be in the mood to show off. Here is a short video though.

Much to Brandon's delight, Hervé put the trampoline up this weekend.

Alicia watching Daddy put it together.

A little too sunny. Might be better with shades on.Finally up. Looks like lots of fun.

Out for a walk

Alicia was quit proud to put on her walking shoes and go out for a real walk without her stroller.
Although she still prefers to walk while holding someone's hand, she took quite a few steps by herself this week.
