In the 18 years I have lived here, rarely has it snow right down into Neuchâtel. This is the second year in a row that we are now living this close to the lake and that it has snowed. (still almost no one in the village has a showel - they just wait till it melts)

It had been snowing for the past couple of days.

The kids were happy to get the sleds out and play with them in the garden.

Brandon sled down the hill in the back.

Even the dog was out to play.

It is winter wonderland here as well, with minus 15 C. I would like to see how the sled that Alicia has goes down the hill. Is it hard to steer? We are going to toboggan this week at a maple farm when it warms a little. Pancakes are served with the farm's maple syrup.
We had sleet last night in Daytona and the parking lot at the Castle Reef had a coating of ice this morning too.
First time that has happened in the 26 years we have owned down here.
Repeat after me, it's "global climate change" not "global warming". The (now) hot central Pacific ocean (el nino) has disrupted the jet stream causing Arctic air to flow south in North America while promoting out of control bush fires in Australia and the drying up of key rivers and dams in South America - both due to lack of rainfall.
Venezuela, which produces over 80% of its electricity from hydro power may have its power grid collapse if it doesn't rain soon.
So, which is worse, snowy precipitation in the cold north or rain failures in the dry south of the planet?
